Very mild wear to both volumes except for the dust jacket of the first book, where the laminate on the majority of the front panel has bubbled. The second book in the set has a price-clipped dust jacket. Clean copies, no writing or marks. Volumes I-VII (1837-1855) comprise the first book and Volumes VIII-XIV (1855-1861) comprise the second book. This Dover edition, first published in 1962, is an unabridged republication of the work first published by the Houghton Mifflin Company in 1906. With barcodes on the jackets, these volumes are obviously not 1962, but the reprint date is not indicated. However, this printing maintains the 1962 edition's new Foreword by Walter Harding, Secretary of the Thoreau Society and a photographic reproduction of one page of the manuscript journal. Introduction by Bradford Torrey. 1,888 pages. These are large, heavy books and the package weight of about 13 pounds will require extra postage if expedited or international delivery is desired.
