The first book-length biography of George Herbert Walker Bush--a senator's son, captain of the Yale baseball team, Texas oilman, Congressman, Ambassador to the UN, Director of the CIA, Vice President (Ronald Reagan), and President. The author was Bush's spokesman when he was ambassador to the UN. Predictably, the book is very favorable toward Bush, almost a fluff piece (the author suspects a charge of "puffery") published in time for the 1980 presidential campaign. The author predicts a Regan/Bush victory in November. He also muses that Reagan will probably not seek a second term because of his age, and Bush would be his likely successor in the White House. 146 pages, black & white photos.
