Austin, Texas: University of Texas Press: 1960: First Edition: Hard Cover: Very Good: Fair: Sarah Kahlden Arendale: Green cloth with gilt design and lettering. Minor wear, soiling to edges of page block. Boards are clean and show little to no wear. Clean throughout inside with no writing or marks. The dust jacket shows rubbing and chipping, with a few small edge tears and some paper loss (large chip) at the lower corner of the front panel. Page numbers vii to xii, 3 to 1,104, including Glossary, Bibliography, and Index. Illustrated with numerous drawings by Sarah Kahlden Arendale. The author notes in his Preface that "this book represents an effort to describe and illustrate the native and naturalized woody plants of the Southwestern United States." Woody plants refers to trees, shrubs, and woody vines. The Southwest refers specifically to Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana, but the extensive range of many of these plants will make the text pertinent to adjacent areas of surrounding states also.: 08792:
