This is the Second Edition, printed in December 1980 after a First Limited Edition in August 1980. 127 pages with illustrations. Includes Appendix 1 (The Great Port Controversy), Appendix 2 (Charles Dickens's Wine Cellar), Notes, Index of Recipes, and Index of Drinks. Cedric Dickens is the great-grandson of Charles Dickens. Here he has written a sketch about drinking in Dickensian England as well as in his own time--mid-twentieth century. Included are recipes for drinks from Charles Dickens' day. Cedric signed the book on the title page: "Cedric Charles Dickens, Here's health and happiness, Bless you." At the top of the page he has quoted from Great Expectations: "You know Henry you and me is always friends." At the bottom of the page he has written: "A thousand happy returns on this auspicious day." Below that he has written "London here we come, New Year 1982."
