11 x 15 inches [28 X 38 cm]. Spiral-bound, black card covers with pictorial inlay, embossed floral design, and gilt-stamped title (Scrap Book). The covers are bowed a bit, with light staining to the front cover, rubbing wear to both covers, and some edge wear. 31 pages numbered in pencil in the upper- corners. A magazine article pasted on one page is dated September 1944, which offers the best indication of when this scrapbook was created. The writing and grammar is that of a young student and this scrapbook was quite possibly a school project, though neither a grade nor comments are found. Contents are found on both recto and verso of the pages and recto only for some pages. Inside the front cover is affixed a booklet titled "Our World in Pictures; The Cattle Industry." The first page has a pasted introduction, hand-written on ruled notebook paper and pasted to the scrapbook page. Illustrated with newspaper and magazine articles, as well as one color illustration and nonconsecutive numbered, black and white photographic plates from a series depicting various aspects of beef production, from pasture to processing plant to butcher.
