As the Protestant son of the Mayor of Warsaw, he joined the Polish resistance at the ge of 10, witnessed the Ghetto Uprising of 1943, was jailed by the Gestapo, released and captured again, finally winding up in a prisoner-of-war camp in Germany before age 16. A remarkable story with more than 150 photographs.
